LEARNING PROFILES AND VAST SUCCESS

IB programmes promote the education of the whole person, emphasizing intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth through all domains of knowledge. By focusing on the dynamic combination of knowledge, skills, independent critical and creative thought and international-mindedness, the IB espouses the principle of educating the whole person for a life of active, responsible citizenship. Underlying the three programmes is the concept of education of the whole person as a lifelong process. The learner profile is a profile of the whole person as a lifelong learner.

ALIGNMENT with LIVING SCHOOL

The IB Diploma Program offers a challenging and balanced curriculum that aims to foster intellectual, personal, emotional, and social development. This approach links closely with Living School’s unique HOLO lens for developing holistic learning opportunities.

THE IB LEARNER PROFILE

Living School aligns closely with the development of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile attributes for all members of our school community.

We strive to be Knowledgeable about the world, natural Inquirers, deep Thinkers, Communicators in a variety of ways, Caring towards ourselves and others, Principled in our actions, Open-minded to all, Balanced in our daily lives, Risk-takers in new learning situations and Reflective.

THE VAST MODEL

The Learner Profile outlines the attributes to which we work toward every day via our VAST Universal Qualities for Success.

The VAST Values, Attitudes and Skills are very similar to the IB Learner Profile attributes. We view the development of these attributes as important not only as a part of children’s school life, but also in their lives outside of school.
